(Small Form-factor Pluggable) A small transceiver that plugs into the SFP port of a network switch and connects to SFP module, switch or converter at other end. Superseding the GBIC transceiver, SFP modules are also called “mini-GBIC” due to their smaller size.

SFP Optical Transceivers are hot-swappable, compact media connectors that provide instant fiber connectivity for your network. They are a cost effective way to connect a single network device to a wide variety of fiber cable distances and types. SFP module commonly used for both telecommunication and data communications applications.

The transmitter end of the transceiver will take in and convert the electrical signals into light and pass the signals through the module channel to the receiver end.

Factor Pluggable Multi-Sourcing Agreement (MSA). They simultaneously comply with Gigabit Ethernet as specified
in IEEE STD 802.3 and 1x Fibre Channel as defined in FC-PI-2 Rev. 10.0 .They are RoHS compliant and lead-free.
